Redefining the spa experience through ancient healing and modern luxury.
Rooted in generations of Ayurvedic wisdom, Suwarakshana Wedamadura began its journey in 1998, nurturing a vision of holistic healing and authentic Sri Lankan wellness traditions. By 2000, this vision evolved into a dedicated sanctuary in the heart of Kandy, where for over a decade it became a trusted haven for guests seeking natural healing.
Our legacy grew with the introduction of Panchakarma therapies and bespoke accommodation. In 2005, we expanded into a serene countryside retreat at Pilimathalawa Gardens. Surrounded by lush greenery, this center became our flagship destination, offering personalized care under experienced Ayurvedic doctors.
Building upon this rich heritage, we have embarked on a new chapter. In collaboration with Mount Randholee Resorts, we proudly present an elevated hilltop sanctuary at Hill City Retreat. Here, tradition meets refinement in fully air-conditioned, elegantly designed spa spaces crafted to meet four-star hospitality standards.

I recently visited Hill City Retreat in Kandy and had a very relaxing experience. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and professional from the moment we arrived. Before the treatment, I had the opportunity to speak with an Ayurvedic doctor, which was very helpful to choose the most suitable therapy. My therapist was experienced and made sure I was comfortable throughout the session. After the treatment, she stayed nearby and helped me move around safely because the herbal oil made the feet slippery. I really appreciated this level of care and attention. The facilities were clean and well maintained. Lockers, disposable garments, bottled water and everything else we needed were provided. The warm herbal drink served after the treatment was also a nice touch. The whole place had a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere, and the experience never felt rushed. I would recommend Hill City Retreat to anyone looking for a relaxing and professional Ayurvedic spa experience in Kandy. I left feeling refreshed and would definitely visit again.
It was truly an amazing experience. The doctor is very knowledgeable. I absolutely loved it.
I Recently traveled to Kandy from Australia. I booked in to Hill City Retreat for a full body massage and steam bath. Dr. Dewmini made the entire experience relaxing and comfortable. The space was beautifully decorated and clean. I would highly recommend treating yourself whether you're on holiday or looking to gift someone with indulgence.
Very good massage. Not too hard, not too soft, exactly right. Staff is very friendly. Quiet atmosphere. Shower after the massage. SUPER!
I really liked my experience here! The space is very clean and calm and inviting, and they know what they're doing. I went for the full body massage + Shirodhara and was very relaxed after. Just as fyi for foreigners - generally speaking, Ayurvedic massages are much more gentle so it's more of a relaxing than anything remedial or deep tissue, so if relaxation is what you're looking for then I recommend this place.
Well experienced therapist with nice, relaxing techniques. Really relaxed. Wishing to have a longer treatment (Panchakarma) under the supervision by a doctor (Dr. Renuka) who has long experience.
Amazing experience, we really enjoyed our time with the experienced doctor and therapist the massage was perfect and the shirodhara gave me some insight.
